A little piece of home

We had the awesome priviledge of hosting some of our best friends from our old neighborhood in Utah. Lea and her boys came to see us for a few days after Christmas. What a treat that was for my kids! They arrived late Sunday night and stayed with us until Thursday morning. The kids were out of school Monday as part of their holidays. The video games ruled the house along with some playdough. Then it was back to school Tuesday, or so we thought. The weather out here is pretty crazy in comparison to Utah. We had the threat of a storm so school was delayed 2 hours. I got the kids up and ready, only to find a sign at the school that it was closed. Hooray for the kids! They got another full day with their friends. So we decided to get away from the video games and movies and get more activite and go to the Appalachian Gymnastics Academy where they do free play. The kids went nuts on the trampolines and in the foam pit. Basketball games were cancelled for the weather as well so we had nowhere to go any nights of the week. Wednesday school was delayed 2 hours and when the kids got home we loaded up the cars and headed off to the Hands On! Children's museum. They only got about an hour to play but had a good time playing bank, hula hooping, blowing huge bubbles, and taking shadow pictures. Then it was off to Cici's Pizza Buffet for dinner. (Thanks again Lea!) The kids stocked up on brownies and cinnamon rolls. Sadly, Thursday was their day to go home and the kids once again had school (although they were dismissed 2 hours early). We had so much fun playing with them and I stayed up far too late catching up with Lea and I could have done it every night she was here! Thanks for the little piece of home! We miss you already!

The video games ruled the week
Our massive school-closing snowstorm
Hours of playdough fun
Hunter made the longest snake in the world. It covered the whole table!
Danny's ready for the foam pit.
Even Lea got into the equipment.
Cole was stuck in the foam pit.
Carter thought it was pretty cool to be up that high.
Danny loved this little slide!
So did Kemery. They spent most of their time on this.
Watch how high I can fly! Hands On! Museum theatre time.
Our future accountants.
The bank was the highlight of the museum. Notice Carter robbing the bank in the background.
Hunter's awesome peg body. Looks just like him!

So glad Lea could come and visit and you guys had so much fun while she was there. We missed you at Christmas but did the same as you and spent a quiet Christmas together. Your house looks great. Thanks for the pictures.

Ahhhhh! So fun! It was such a treat for us! Thanks for being the friends we can come visit and you still love us after we've left! Woo-hoo! The boys are wishing Cici's was in UT... not yet! And I know Hunter really REALLY misses Carter. Thank goodness for computers, internet, and cell phones for the mommies... we'll always be friends despite the miles!
