Carter's team were all new to the game and didn't really have any idea how to play. They practiced a lot and had good coaches, but it just never came together at game time. They lost every game they played, until the tournament rolled around. Then, they won their first game ever! They advanced to the next round where they again won, advancing to the next round. Then, they lost. But Carter scored his first basket ever! It was on a technical foul and the coach chose him to shoot and he made it! It was a swisher with the basket hardly even moving. That was a proud parent moment. They went on to the losers bracket to play for third, but they just didn't have their game faces on and they lost. Out of 16 teams they placed 4th. Not bad for a team that couldn't win at all!

Basketball Update
Hooray, it's over! I really did enjoy watching the kids, but all the running around got to be crazy. Here's a quick recap of each kid:

Hillary's team went undefeated the entire season and they maintained that for the tournament as well. They took first place overall, earning the biggest trophy of all. They played hard and most of all enjoyed the game. Hillary is learning the sport and with some practice she could be pretty good at it. She scored for her team as well in one game. (Somehow I missed both kids games where they scored, but Brian was there to celebrate with them.) I think we'll do it again next year. Congratulations kids!
