Spelling Bee

As children, Brian and I never got into a spelling bee. Not that we are bad spellers, we just weren't that good. Hillary and Carter both made it into the school spelling bee. They were both in the top 3 in their classes which automatically put them into the school bee. There were 36 kids total in the beginning. Sadly, Hillary got out on the first round with the word Staccato. She forgot the 2nd A. Carter, however, did very well. He managed to spell the words: orthodox, walrus, machismo, prosaic, and horrible. At this point, there are only 4 kids left, with Carter being the only 4th grader left. He went on to spell burglar, then attempted irrigate, but didn't know it was even a word. He spelled it earigate. So very close! He took 4th place in the whole school!!! Way to go Carter! And Hillary will never forget how to spell Staccato again.
