We have been to Mt. Olympus before, but now the kids are bigger and appreciate it a little more. They have been reading Percy Jackson so they are fascinated by the Greek Mythology in the park. Hillary loves roller coasters and was big enough to go on everything. This was the first time that Carter was also big enough to go on all the rides. Whitney could ride most things, just not the biggest ones. Kemery couldn't do much of anything except the balloons and the train which were her favorites! All the roller coasters at this park are the wooden rickety ones that shake your teeth right out of their sockets. Since the last time we went they have added a new coaster called Hades. "Hades, voted "Best New Ride" by Amusement Today in 2005, is a record-breaking extreme wooden roller coaster with a 65-degree drop, the world’s longest underground tunnel and the rush of reaching speeds up to 70 mph. Hang on for dear life as you scale the 160' heights of Hades, then scream all the way to the bottom of the first 140' drop, make a 90 degree turn underground in complete darkness, blast out of the ground, just to dip and spin around to do it all over again. HADES, the master of the UNDERWORLD will give you an experience you won't soon forget!" Yep, that about says it all. It was incredible!!! Hillary rode it 4 times!
Then there is a water park. This place likes to go big! We have been in wave pools, but nothing like this! It starts out nice and calm, then out of nowhere a 9 foot tall tidal wave crashes over the pool. It's a rush!!! So good that Brian got a bloody nose from someone being thrown into him. We also went to the indoor water park and got out of the sun for a bit.
Personally, I think the place is a little trashy. None of the workers speak much english, there is smoking all over the place, and because of the water park, people wander around half naked all day. But the coasters are a rush!
